Step-by-Step Guide
- Place your Aeropress and mug or vessel on a scale
- Boil filtered water and then vigilantly rinse the paper filter to purge any unwanted paper flavour
- Use burr grinder to grind 18 grams of whole beans (fine-ish) and then collapse the coffee into the Aeropress chamber, to create an even coffee bed
- Take the water off boil and rest it for 1 minute, or until the water is approximately 93-96 Degrees Celsius
- Start your timer and pour 270 grams of water quickly onto the coffee bed
- Stir rigorously with your stirrer until all the coffee is evenly saturated
- Place the top plunger on and wait 50 seconds for the coffee to steep
- Remove the top plunger and stir again for 5 seconds
- Place the top plunger back on and wait until 1 minute and 45 seconds for the coffee to steep again
- Take the top plunger off one more time and quickly stir for another 3 seconds
- Place the top plunger back on and start plunging slowly for 20 seconds- to ensure you get an even extraction, plunge slowly and with even pressure
